What makes a blog a good one?

So I've been blogging pretty consistently since January. And I never really thought I'd be able to keep up with it. I never thought I'd be able to consistently make good decisions for more than 2 months, but here I am in May, and I'm still trying and most of the time, still succeding. But I feel like not many people read my blog. So I wonder, what makes a blog good? I look at some people's blogs and they have tons of comments, even if the topic isn't deep. And I want mine to be good, I want mine to help people. I want mine to help me and part of me feels like, if my blog isn't successful, I'm not successful. So feedback, Please!! And if you're a faithful reader, thank you so much!

I'm no blog expert, but I do like your blog. You post regularly, and you have an "authentic" voice. How I can say that, I have no idea since I've never met you, but it just feels like there's a real person on the other side of the post. If that makes any sense. :)

The best thing to gain more readers is to comment on other blogs and not only have I benefited from that (thank you!), but I've seen your name in other people's comments so I know you've been "out and about."

I guess my feedback is to keep doing what you're doing and being who you are. I enjoy coming here and I know others do, too. More will come, in time.

Have a great week!

The best advice I can offer is to visit blogs & leave comments. But also do this consistently. I try to visit the blog of everyone who comments on my blog. I also try to reply (in my own comments sections) to all the comments I receive. It takes a little while to build a good readership, but it's worth the process. I would be willing to bet you have a bunch of readers you don't even realize because they haven't worked up the nerve to comment yet.

Hi there, just found you blog today. I usually look for people that I have something in common with and I notice I'm drawn to read people that have an interesting "voice". I don't think there is a recipe. Seems the best blogs are ones written by people that seem to be really good and being themselves on their blog. Does that make sense. Not having read much of your blog yet, I can't comment there but keep blogging and finding your voice and if it makes you happy and helps you it might likely appeal to others to.

Hi there... I'm not sure how I found your blog but I'm here and a first time reader. I'm looking forward to reading more and will try and come back often.

I've only been blogging for about 3 months or so and sometimes feel the same way. Are people reading? are people even interested? why do I only get a few comments and mostly from the same few readers. I love getting comments and feedback because it helps me feel as though I'm part of a wonderful community. Bottom line is I blog so I can get my thoughts out and process my feelings.

Hang in there and keep writing!

I have no clue what makes a blog good or bad. I do enjoy reading yours and check it daily though!!

I bet you have more readers than you think... sometimes people just dont post. I know somedays on mine I might get three or four comments then other days its like 14 or 15 it just all depends on teh mood of the readers I guess.

But in the end this blog should be about you and how its helpful to you in addition to getting the feedback. (at least thats what I tell myself too you know!?)

Best!
