Just Say No
I'm a big fan of the "just say no" campaign...and I wish I could translate that into my eating....I was doing great today...brought breakfast - special K and strawberry applesauce, brought lunch today - small salad, chicken breast on a hard roll with one piece of cheese and light mayo...and I had an apple and some goldfish for snacks in the morning and afternoon....I even had company over for dinner - salad, grilled chicken and boneless ribs and plain pasta with some italian dressing and seasonings...but here's my problem...when I get out of work every day, I'm starving...I eat a snack around 3 and I usually leave work at 4...but most days I'll either stop at some fast food chain on the way home and get a burger or chicken and fries, stop at a store for something and find my way into a bag of chips or come home and devour the first thing I see. I've tried eating my snack later...like while I'm driving but that usually means it's not very healthy. And I've tried coming right home and cooking but I either get distracted or I'm waiting for my husband so it's still warm for him....I do so good during the day....but 4PM and I become a ravenous animal....today it was Fritos...I don't even like them....does anyone else have this problem?

Sounds like you are really in control other than this one time of the day. Congratulations, that is an accomplishment. I would plan more than one healthy snack. I do eat on my commute home, but I stick to an apple. How about popping a bag of popcorn to eat too?
I like what Brenda suggested. Or, if you like the South Beach snack bar or like items, they might be a good filler-upper. They're not the healthiest thing on the planet, but they're not Fritos either. :)
Mmmm, fritos....
Oh I hear ya on this one. When I'm hungry, really starving, on the commute, I'll inevitably stop at McDonald's. There's no way around it so I try to "balance" it out by eating less for dins or whatever major meal there is. I try to eat as late as possible, when I'm really truly hungry, so that I feel full and don't pull over to exit 33 (I know ALL the best McD's exits) on the way home. Jenny has these between meal bars that taste like a brick but keep you full. I think it's the uber amount of protein involed that does it, but sometimes if I force myself to have it, it helps. I think for me, because I have a tendency to gain as I get older, I really need to watch the after-work snacking. Hard as hell but I guess the first step is to be cogniscent of it, right? Good luck with WW!
Ha okay, so I am totally late on this comment but I have the same exact problem. Try fiber one granola bars. They have 9 grams of fiber and only have 130-160 calories. They are 2-3 points on Weight Watchers. BTW, if you are still doing WW when I come home we should go to meetings together if we can finagle our schedules. Anyway, the granola bar (or 2) holds me over until I can get dinner cooked and on the table.
